Canbury & Riverside Association (CARA) is a non-political and purely voluntary organisation whose aims and objectives are the protection and enhancement of amenities within the area for residents and users CARA is the area bordered by Richmond Road to the east, Lower Kings Road & Canbury Place to the south, the River Thames to the west and Hawker Leisure to the north. An application to extend the Nursery on Lower Kings Road has been rejected. Planning ref: 06/12386 **Successful CARA Campaign: The Council decides to implement parking restrictions at their meeting on 6th September. See an extract of the minutes. July 2006: 16th - The CARA Barbeque was a great success - over 85 people came and enjoyed a lovely shady time by the river. Thank you to all the volunteers. January 2006: Volunteers worked with the Thames Landscape strategy to clear along the river on Lower Ham Road. Here are some photos. September 2005: Volunteers planted some bulbs along Lower Ham Road, after several months of lobbying by CARA to tidy up the road. The daffodils appeared in April and looked gorgeous.
